It’s done. Took me somewhere close to five days to finish. And I did it all without a pattern. Man, I’m so proud of myself.
The shirt turned out to actually be easier than I’d expected, but it wasn’t exactly simple either. A few things that I learned was:
- There are better ways to put the collar together, and I think I can now figure out how to make it a little more decorative.
- It would be easier to actually sew the collar on before sewing the sides of the shirt together.
- The button section could use about another inch of fabric than what I’d originally measured out.
There are a few minor problems with the stitching but nothing terrible. Some of the lines aren’t exactly straight but there’s no unnecessary bunching or anything. I think I may add another stitch around the collar where it connects to the rest of the shirt for reinforcement. Other than that, it just needs washed and then it can be worn. Yay me!
- Getting started on the shirt.
- The collar took a while to figure out.
- Hemming the bottom.
- Just needs buttons and button holes.
- All done!
- Tada! Finished project.
